Team Sunseeker prepares for Tunisian Grand Prix
02.07.2008
With the drama of Marseilles behind them, Team Sunseeker - after many hours 'burning the midnight oil' - are now setting their sights on the Tunisian Grand Prix, taking place in Hammanet over the weekend of 11th-13th July. "It continues to be a massive effort by all at Sunseeker to get the boat back in the water and ready to race after such a traumatic event," explains Dominic Byrne, Managing Director of Sunseeker Sales Group. "It was testament to the quality of workmanship that the hull withstood the barrel-roll but we have not been so fortunate with other parts of the boat and we are in the process of replacing these. " Whilst the hull only requires de-greasing, the engines, gauges and electrics have all been replaced along with steering wheel, helm and the specially made Corbeau racing seats. "The damage to Pete Little’s seat brought home to us all the severity of the incident," continues Byrne, "and we are very thankful that both pilots escaped relatively unscathed and are now raring to race again. We hope to be back on the water within days which will give us the best possible chance to have the boat ready and competitive for the Tunisian GP."
