| As Team Sunseeker prepares for its second GP of the season, Sunseeker Sales Group Marine Technician Vincent Franzese, 42, from Christchurch, will travel to the Powerboat P1 French Grand Prix of the Sea this weekend as ‘guest engineer’, part of the Sunseeker Sales Group’s commitment to involve its employees within its race programme. "The race team may be a small part of the overall Sunseeker operation but it has the drama and the excitement and we want our employees to feel part of these activities," explains Dominic Byrne, Managing Director of Sunseeker Sales Group. "We intend to keep everyone updated on the team’s progress throughout the season and will be inviting a member of the engineering team to every round of the world championship." Sunseeker Sales Group Service Engineer, Phil Brown, 35, from Broadstone, Poole, was the first to travel with the team when he attended the Italian Grand Prix two weeks ago. "It was a fantastic experience |
. I love motorsport and when the opportunity arose to work with the race boat, I jumped at the chance. When we arrived in the dry pits on the Thursday before the race there were just two teams in place. As the hours passed more and more teams arrived and there was a real buzz around the place. It became clear that we were part of something special." "I have worked with the Sunseeker XS 2000 and the XS Sport so was not phased at all and am used to working long hours when I am away. What was different was the intensity of activity with all hands on deck. It was very demanding but I would love to do it again." Working in San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy, alongside Phil was Sunseeker Sales Group Service Director, Stuart Collins. "All our engineers are quality individuals who bring their own skills to the race team whilst gaining new experiences on event. It is a worthwhile investment that benefits both the team and Sunseeker Sales Group." |
