| Haymarket Network won the business in a pitch against website incumbent Crash.net and Fingal. Event programmes were previously produced by TRMG. The move will see Haymarket Network initially develop a new state-of-the-art website at www.powerboatp1.com, new photography and event programmes for the global race series. The appointment follows a recent restructure of the Championship that has seen the introduction of new teams, new venues and substantial investment in the organisation's infrastructure and management. Launching on 1 May, the new look will mirror the organisation's new mission statement 'to bring professional organisation, marketing and commercial skills to production level performance boating, and to offer leading brands an experiential and brand enhancement sports and entertainment platform'. Powerboat P1 Sales and Marketing Director, Robert Wicks, commented: "As a new management team we soon realised the value of the Championship's extensive content and the importance of |
using it creatively to attract more fans to the sport. Haymarket provided the ideal solution to centralise our needs and their reputation in international motorsport publishing was key." Haymarket Network's Director of Sport, Cormac Bourne, said: "This represents a real coup for us and opens a range of new opportunities in the relatively untapped marine market. P1 is the pinnacle of global powerboat racing and we are thrilled to have added the series to our portfolio." |
