As usual, the teams are doing some last-minute repairs to their boats, but everyone is looking forward to the imminent start of the opening ceremony for this year’s Malta Grand Prix of the Sea and the Malta Grand Harbour Boat Show. Leading the ceremony will be Powerboat Chairman Asif Rangoola, Powerboat P1 CEO Jim O’Toole and a very special pair of guests in the shape of Malta’s Honorable Prime Minister, Dr Lawrence Gonzi and his wife, Kate. They’ll be touring the dry pit to get a taste of Powerboat P1, before taking a look at the Grand Harbour Boat Show.

Die „Fountain 1st4boats.com“ des Fountain Worldwide Teams war eines der ersten Boote auf Malta. Die Techniker nahmen sich noch einmal die in Marseille notdürftig geflickten Schäden vor, die bei der Kollision mit der „Honeyparty.com“ in der Startrunde entstanden waren. Durch den Aufprall hatte der Fountain Rumpf einige Risse an den Steps und der Backbordseite erlitten, die nun vor dem Rennen in Malta noch repariert werden mussten. Insgesamt zeigte sich das Team aber zuversichtlich und setzt auch beim dritten Grand Prix der Saison wieder voll auf Sieg. |
