| As part of his visit to the P1 village, the Mayor was introduced to Powerboat P1 owner Asif Rangoonwala and Managing Director Jim O'Toole, as well as Portugal's celebrated sportscar racer and former F1 driver, Pedro Lamy, before taking a tour of the wet/dry pit area getting up close to these spectacular race boats and talk to the pilots. Later, Mayor Manuel da Luz congratulated the Powerboat P1 organisers for creating such a professional and well-organised event and support in promoting Portugal and the Algarve to a global audience. |
Ein ganz besonderes Wochenende steht Martin Lai und dem "Sun Lik Beer" Team in Portimao bevor. Martin Lai bekommt Besuch von seinem Vater aus Hongkong und wird nicht nur sein erstes Powerboat Rennen besuchen sondern auch seinen 80sten Geburtstag feiern. "Mein Vater hat mich noch nie bei einem Rennen gesehen," so Lai, "Wir werden ihm eine tolle Feier und hoffentlich auch einen Sieg unseres "Sun Lik Beer" Teams bieten können." Auch die Familie von Driver Andreas Halkiopoulis reist zum Finale an. Damit steht einer gelungenen Party des griechisch-chinesischen Teams wohl nichts entgegen. |
