| The drama and excitement of the Powerboat P1 World Championship took a further twist yesterday, on the eve of the season's finale in Portimao, Portugal, when SuperSport class leaders Extremeboat were stripped of the championship points they won in the previous event in Belgium, due to an infringement of power to weight ratio regulations. The P1 Management committee announced their decision after studying results of dynamometer tests. The team may appeal against the decision. Roscioli Hotels Roma, the Italian boat piloted by Angelo Tedeschi and Fabio Magnani now moves to the top of the championship with a lead of 80 points from Britain's Drew Langdon and Jan Falkowski racing Buzzi Bullet III. Extremeboat, the Dragon boat of Mike Shelton and Jackie Hunt slips to third place, closely followed by Voom Voom.com.
