| Chaudron, the Maltese shipbuilders and Powerboat P1 SuperSport class competitors, will have mixed emotions in Portimão, Portugal, as the race weekend will be the last competitive outing for the Chaudron hull with Aaron and Audrien Ciantar at the wheel. For next season, the boat that has served them well for two years with two Grand Prix wins and numerous podium finishes, will be replaced with a larger new state-of-the-art family built hull. This year Chaudron produced a hull for the Italian team Roscioli Hotels Roma that has shown the quality of their craftsmanship with six podium finishes including two wins, an extraordinary achievement for a boat in its first season and racing in one of the world’s most competitive racing series. It is no secret |
that throttleman driver Aaron Ciantar has been itching to race the boat that he and his family built for the Italians. “We shall build ourselves a new boat for the 2008 season based upon the 12 metre Chaudron that Roscioli Hotels Roma race,” explained Charlie Ciantar, owner of the Chaudron shipyard. “It will be interesting to see Aaron and Audrien taking on Angelo [Tedeschi, owner of Roscioli Hotels Roma] and the other front runners. I’m sure that they can challenge for the 2008 title”. It may be the final race in Chaudron II for the Maltese Casino Portomaso Chaudron team but the boat will be returning to Malta before being put up for sale… a fully race prepared boat with one careful owner. It could be yours for 100,000 euros!
