The National Tourism Organisation of Montenegro and the Budva Tourism Organisation have emphasised the importance of the Class 1 Montenegrin Grand Prix as a strategic event in their overall worldwide promotion and their positioning of Montenegro and Budva on the world map of elite destinations. “Montenegro is the fifth fastest growing tourism economy in the world and an event such as Class 1 can support and add value to our campaign to reach as wide an audience as possible,” said Sasa Radovic, Managing Director of the National Tourism Organisation. “Not only will Class 1 increase awareness of our country through its television and media coverage, but it provides us with a unique international event and imagery to use in our marketing strategy and promotions at the tourism fairs we attend in Europe and in our advertising campaigns on channels such as CNN, Eurosport and Euronews.”

IOTA General Secretary, Marco Sala, was in Montenegro last week to attend a press conference at the studios of Atlas Television in the country’s capital, Podgorica, where the event organisers and their commercial partners outlined their plans to the media for the Grand Prix on 25 May and stating it was ‘their most important event of the year’. “I was very impressed by the support, commitment and enthusiasm from everyone involved in the event and I strongly believe that the Montenegrin Grand Prix in Budva will be one of the highlights of our racing season,” said Sala, whose views and comments were fully endorsed by Igor Hlebec, Marketing Director of the Montenegrin Grand Prix Organising Committee. “We have tremendous backing for this event from a diverse group of organisations and commercial partners - the Tourist Organisation of Budva, our co-organisers, Lovćen Osiguranje, the company providing the Event Insurance and our partners and sponsors the Hypo Group, BMW Podgorica, and Lutrija Crne Gore – all of their support is vital to the success of the event.” The press conference closed with the President of the Event Organising Committee, Alexandar Csizmadia and Atlas Television’s Marketing Director, Srđan Filipović, signing a long-term strategic partnership, with Atlas Television as official Media Partner to the event who will work in close collaboration with Class 1 Television.
