| Giorgioffshore team boss, Gianni Giorgi is confident there is much more to come from the team, after a very solid season opener in Qatar, taking points from qualifying and a much deserved top six finish in SeveneleveN in the Qatar GP, the first outing for their Michael Peters-designed, Victory cat. “We are happy with the performances we showed during the race, especially in the second half where the boat was aligned with other competitors’ top speed,” said team boss, Gianni Giorgi. “We had a small problem with one of our engines during free practice on Saturday and our guys gave 110% to be in time for pole and to get us ready to race...so this can be considered as a successful trial for our team. Now we have only to improve the overall performance by taking out some |
extra weight from the boat and we plan to carry out some testing at our Italian base in Viareggio in mid-May.” Nicola Giorgi was equally optimistic about the developing partnership with Giorgio Manuzzi, after only their third race together. “It will take a while before being able to push to the limit. We have to find the right set-up and the perfect combination between me and Giorgio, who is an experienced racing driver, but has showed already a great talent on the water,” said SeveneleveN’s throttleman, Nicola. “We are looking forward to the Montenegro Grand Prix – by then the boat will be lighter and quicker in the turn. I feel very comfortable and safe with the new boat - she is very responsive and I am confident that even better results will come soon!” |
