| Nor-Tech, America’s leading high-performance boat manufacturer has reached an agreement with IOTA, the organiser of the WPPA Class 1 World Powerboat Championship to launch a series of new initiatives in 2008, strengthening the company's ties with the World’s leading powerboat series. “The introduction last season of our Supercat 3600 into the championship as the start and safety boat gave us the opportunity to demonstrate our product to a truly international audience,” said Nor-Tech’s President and Owner, Trond Schou. “It was also used very successfully to give IOTA’s commercial partners and the media the chance to experience the excitement of ‘powerboat racing’ with high speed runs in the Nor-Tech around |
the racecourse – and this is something that we wanted to develop. We are very excited about our extended cooperation with IOTA and I would like to thank Marco Sala, and Mercury Racing for their valuable support and involvement with our new projects.” The new initiatives, which were announced at the Miami Boat Show, will see a second Nor-Tech 3600, powered by two Mercury 662 engines on the circuit, with the opportunity for high performance outings in the Nor-Tech extended to spectators. Schou also confirmed the launch of the Nor-Tech Academy whose members will be given instruction on how to drive a high performance boat, and that detailed plans for the Nor-Tech Class 1 Challenge will be released in the coming weeks. |
