BONHOMME BEATS MANGOLD IN ELIMINATIONS
Paul Bonhomme (GBR/Team Matador) set the pace in the first knock-out round of the Red Bull Air Race World Series in London (GBR) on Sunday, taking the top spot for the quarter-finals with a time of 1:27.57.

Bonhomme beat Mike Mangold (USA/Team Cobra) by 0.12 seconds, racing through the course just metres above the River Thames. Peter Besenyei (HUN/Team Red Bull) was third, trailing by 0.35 seconds. The slowest four of the 12 pilots who qualified for Sunday's race were eliminated in the first round. Nicolas Ivanoff (FRA/Team M.R.T) was ninth, Sergey Rakhmanin (RUS/Team Dragon) was 10th, Hannes Arch (AUT/Team Cobra) was 11th and Klaus Schrodt (GER/Team Lobo) took 12th.

In the upcoming quarter final competition of Sunday’s Red Bull Air Race World Series, Steve Jones (GBR/Matador) goes up against Paul Bonhomme (GBR/Matador), Nigel Lamb faces off against Alejandro Maclean (ESP/MRT), Frank Versteegh (NED/Lobo) competes against Peter Besenyei (HUN/Red Bull) and Kirby Chambliss (USA/Red Bull) flies against race favourite Mike Mangold (USA/Cobra).
